We listened to this story and discussed how lucky we really are. This year I want to encourage my classes to be a "glass half full" class instead of a "glass half empty" class. We should be grateful for everything we have.
Leadership and Color
We don’t think of it often but color plays a very important part in our lives. When we are driving a car, the colors red, yellow and green can make the difference between being safe and being in an accident.
Color can also affect our mood. Bright colors are stimulating and pastel colors are calming. Color is also important in advertising. People are more likely to read and respond to ads that are in colors—other than black. Color can also show us our leadership personalities. The color you prefer can identify the qualities that you have for being a leader and being a friend. The color of the jelly bean you chose will tell us something about your abilities, your study habits, your work style, your likes and your dislikes.
What Color are You?
Black or White: You are an individual who is very organized. If you are given an assignment, you want to know all the details and the exact requirements. You want to know all the rules. You memorize things well. You want your work to be perfect. You do not like sloppy, unorganized people. You always deliberate before making any decision. You give 100% and you expect everyone else to do the same.
Orange: You are cheerful and good-natured. You have the ability to get along with almost everyone. You are friendly and smile often. You have a good sense of humor. You use your ability to speak to share your ideas. You are an optimist. You have a positive attitude and enjoy life. You do not like to be left alone. You are a people person and want others to do their best.
Red or Pink: You are courageous and full of energy. You smile often. You are compassionate. If you see someone who is not smiling, you will ask what the problem is. You really care about people and often become involved in other people’s problems. You are influenced by others and share their sadness and their grief. You make decisions based on your feelings and what feels right in your heart. You spend a lot of time on the telephone…usually listening. You are sensitive and a good friend.
Purple: You are very excitable and creative. You always have new ideas in your head. You have a short attention span and cannot stay in one spot for very long. You are disorganized and put things off until the last minute. You enjoy the challenges that are created by different problems. You often ask why things must be done a certain way. You would rather do things a different way. You set high standards for yourself and for those who work with you.
Yellow: You are outspoken and always have an opinion to share. You are constantly moving from one activity to another. You are intelligent, innovative, and artistic. You are sometimes confused when you have to make decisions. You are not always where you are supposed to be. You are a hard worker. You are fun. You will try anything as long as it is safe. You respect the opinions of others.
Green: You should stand up and be recognized because you love recognition. You are leaders. You like to be seen. You have no problem making a decision. You know exactly where your group needs to go. Now, as a green jelly bean, you will want the purple jelly beans to create the project. You will want the black and white jelly beans to organize the project. You will want the orange jelly bean to be in charge of the project or if it is a new project, you will want the jelly bean in charge to be a red or a pink jelly bean. You will want a yellow jelly bean to be the person in charge of publicity.
